Quality
Being a Marketer, I would say that quality is a matter of
"right or wrong", not "good or bad". This leads into
defining quality as "how the customer wants it". Personally
I like this defintion.
If the customer wants me to use a special glossary and respect
the terms in it I will do it. No problem. The finished translation will
then be a product of good quality.
To maintain translations with a high quality standard I
focus on my customers needs and demands.
To achieve my goals I use tools. My most important tool
is my own knowledge. My knowledge from being a native Norwegian, my experience
as a technical translator, my experience with Marketing and localisation
projects and my Marketing education. Software helps to maintain consistency.
Quality is my goal, and by communicating with my customers
I always try to deliver my translations "as my customers want it".
